We built California People Search to make those lines easier to follow. It points readers toward the right official index, request channel, archive, or records counter without pretending that one database covers the state.

Why This Site Exists

California has no single official people-search system. County recorders handle deeds and liens, county assessors maintain parcel rolls, and each superior court controls its own trial-court files. CDPH and local registrars split vital-record work. The Secretary of State runs business, UCC, voter, archives, and Safe at Home functions, while licensing boards publish separate professional records. Libraries add city directories and genealogy collections that reach far beyond modern portals. We organize those official tools, office contacts, and access rules by record type and by place.
